Creating custom field displaying 3 or more graphical indicators

In creating a 3 to 5 level stoplight, the info I received was to create a
custom number field for each light with a formula - IIF statements. Then
create another custom number field to display the stoplights. When doing
this, the lights work but do not always display the correct light for the
condition. The display field is set to display the light by a numerice value
1, 2, 3 etc. These numbers have been entered as the value to return in each
IIF statement if true.

Is there a simplier way to accomplish this?

Hi,

If the lights do not display the right value for the condiyion, that means
you have a logical error in your formulae, sorry.
And you could place the stoplights directly in the field that has the Iif
conditions.

Sorry our power was out for a full day so I couldn't reply. I think Jan
probably hit the nail on the head (i.e. error in your formula). That's
one of the reasons I prefer VBA to formulas. It is so easy to make an
entry error in a long complex formula. Nonetheless, if you haven't
already discovered the error, post the formula along with a definition
of exactly what you are trying to accomplish and then we can help you.
