CSS FrontPage crashing out

"Microsoft FrontPage application file has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I'm trying to use CSS for the first time in FrontPage 2000 on a computer
with XP. I am getting the above message when I try to save a file with the
extension .css. I have nothing in the file except the bear minimum for
testing purposes, i.e., hr {color:sienna} and nothing else.

I am trying to save the file as mystyle.css but when I try to save it the
program crashes out with the above message.

I did go to Tools/Options/Compatibility/ and selected 4.0 browsers and later
in the Browser versions drop-down menu.

Could there be a problem in my installation or am I doing something wrong?

This is a problem reported by many with no fix in sight. A workaround is to
edit your css file in another editor, such as Notepad, or, you may want to
try TopStyle: http://www.bradsoft.com/topstyle/index.asp

Or, you could upgrade to FP2003 or FP2003 - the problem doesn't happen in
those versions.

Many thanks Kathleen - I have been wasting so much time trying to find out
what the problem is... frustrating. By the way, what's the difference,
hehe... >> Or, you could upgrade to FP2003 or FP2003 << ??

I think I'll try to manage with editing the css file in another editor -
notepad should do, shouldn't it?
