Am trying to transfer contact/address info from an old
organizer (OZ730) to Outlook. I have transferred info
from the organizer to desktop in a .csv file (per Sharp's
instructions). Need step-by-step directions on how to
upload the info into Outlook, then can use with new
organizer. Help please.

1. Open outlook
2. open file menu on top of screen
3. Choose "import & export"
4. choose "imoprt from another program or file"
5. in the new window and choose (TAB separated values or COMMA separated
values depending on the typ of CSV file u have - you can check this by
opening it with notepad and looking what is in between the value fields,
every line is one entry in the contacts book)
6. When you choose the file by browsing your computer in the next window
I suggest you choose the option to create duplicates, nad later scroll
through the contacts to see if you have any)
7. Choose the location you would like to import ypur contacts (in this
case your contacts folder)

The data should then be imported to your outlook]

have fun

There will be a few more steps, but the are choices you have to make
about the data, so I can be of no help there. The technical part is in
the beginning.

I found the best way is to place a contact in Outlook that would mirror the
information you have in your current PDA.
Once you have 1 contact that has all the information you store export
Outlook Contacts to a CSV file by using File Export and choose CSV file.
Load this file into Excel and you will be able to see the Header information
for each field. You can then use excel to open your PDA CSV file and then
put the same Header names to each value. Save this as a CSV file with a new
file name. You can then import this new file name and in the process you
will be able to choose field names that are the same.
