cursor drops into orig msg area

Upon replying to a message, cursor momentarily goes to
the default position above the original message but then
drops into the beginning of the message area. I have to
move cursor prior to typing. Pain in the butt! This is a
new problem. Anybody have a solution? THANKS!!!!
