**Curve paths in animation**

Hi

I'm working with MSpowerpoint 2003 and in custom animation when I define
to move an object through a curved path I get a successfull result but I
don't understand the following options , and by studing the help and
following the "try and error" way I couldn't find their effects .

start smooth check box
end smooth check box
path:(lock or unlock)

I changed the value of check boxes and I selected the lock or unlock for
the path but I got nothing. where and when can I use them?

Can anybody help me?
Thanks alot.

When Smooth start is checked, the motion starts and accelerates gradually to
normal speed.
Smooth end is checked, the motion decelerates gradually and stops.
Lock path is to lock the path so that you can't move the path. If the path
is lock, the path will not move even if you move the object itself. Likewise,
unlocked path will follow the object if the object is moved. Interesting,
isn't it? :)

Thanks I tried as you said ,and I've got the correct result for "smooth
start" and "smooth end" but by selectecting the "path:lock" I could all
thing(such as moving and resizing the path line) as when it was unlocked.
There was no difference ,why?

Sorry, my mistake in explaining.

The difference:
If the path is lock, the path will not move if you move the object.
Unlocked path will follow the object if the object is moved.

What can you do with it?
I'm working on several updates on my site now, here's one that I have just
completed, you might want to get a first look here:
