Custom Show Utility: does an alternative to native functionality exist?

John Faughnan

I am not a fan of the native "custom show" functionality in PowerPoint.
I would love to see a utility that gave me a "slide sorter" like view
of my file and let me drag and drop slides into a "custom show" then
save the result as a custom show in PPT. Ideally I'd also be able to
export and print from this utility.

Google web and usenet searches have not turned up anything. Perhaps
nothing exists.

Does anyone know of such a utility? I don't mind paying for it!

John,
This is a very interesting idea. As one who uses Custom Shows constantly, I
agree that a drag and drop type interface would be nice. I don't know that
one exists, but that doesn't mean one couldn't. It would take some VBA work
and some time. If you would be willing to email me off list (unknot my email
for the real one) with your full requirements, we can see what might become
of this idea....

Kathy, Chirag mentions "Shyam's Toolbox for PowerPoint at
http://skp.mvps.org/toolbox/index.htm allows you to select slides in
slide sorter view to create a custom show out of it."

This is similar to what I was looking for and I'll follow-up on his
tip.

I can't email you as I'm reading this via Google Groups, and this
interface obfuscates email addresses. If you'd like to email me so I
can f/u my public address is:

Thanks and thanks to Chirag too!
