Customised Error 404

Sorry another question.

As FP wont accept .htaccess info, apart from ensuring that I have no dead
links prior to uploading ;), how do I create a customised 404 page.

Also, a general html Q, If sum1 entered my site from other than the
index.html, how do I bounce them out to it?
