.dat attachemet being sent with e-mails

Reciepants of my e-mails are getting a .dat attachment
included with my messages. I am not attaching anything.

I've been told that this is a problem somewhere in my
account settings but don't know how to fix it.

Can anyone help me?

If the file is named winmail.dat, you need to change your message format to
plain text (or html) and consider disabling Word as your email editor. (All
done under Tools | Options | Mail Format)
