Data base - Rebuild - Reinstate

I am using Entourge - Office X on an IMac running 10.2.8.

I starting getting an error message, can't access your Database files..
Research tells me it is because my database was too big. How can I
access my data when the program will not give me access to A) drag a
folder to my desktop and clean up my database nor B) will not allow me
to rebuild or advance rebuild the database?

I copied the entire MUD file to a DVD and I have executed both types of
rebuilds on the database since reinstalling the software. It still says
its too big. So can I access this data ever again?

After the reinstall all of my other accounts except the large database
account work. I have read most of the posting on the google group and
cannot find any updates for the software to take it to 10.1.5 or even
10.1.2.

I regularly update my software.

Any suggestions how I can access my database or at least my contacts?

Are you sure you have enough free space on your drive to rebuild? Entourage
duplicates the database during the rebuild process.

If you can open Entourage then it's possible to reduce by deleting some of
the mail. If nothing else you can try exporting as much data to save as
possible before Entourage no longer opens.

Paul Berkowitz's script Export-Import Entourage is definitely work checking
out.

Entourage X has a 4 GB limit on the Database file. Note: You must use the
10.1.2 updater from MacTopia to get that 4 GB size plus warnings. The
earliest release version of Entourage X did not have those features.

Entourage 2004 has no size limit and it's possible that importing your data
into Entourage 2004 will allow a rebuild, but with corrupted data you can't
know for sure. You should be able to test this out with the demo version to
see if it would work.
