I recently reinstalled Outlook 97 on one of our home computers. It was
working fine for a couple months. Then my wife twisted my arm to
install the rest of Office 97 too (I had tried to convince my family to
use OpenOffice, but gave up after a couple months after too many
complaints..."The menus are different.)
When I reintalled Office, Outlook stopped referring to the address book
correctly. It won't auto resolve addresses like it was. When I open up
address book and go to Tools|Options. It has a place for "Data
sharing." The top option "Share Contact Information among MS Outlook
and other applications. Address book data will be stored in the MS
Outlook Contact Store."...this option is grayed out and no other choice
but "Do not share information among MS Outlook and other applications.
Address book data will be stored in an address Book file (*.wab) file"
I'm thinking that the Office 97 reinstall changed something in the
registry. Any ideas?
