Database Daemon Excessive Drive Access

B

Brian Sakowicz

I'm running Office X 2004 and I've noticed that my drive makes a lot of
noise that is being caused by the Database Daemon accessing the drive
constantly. I can manually quit the process in the activity viewer
afterwards if I choose, but it starts back up next time I start up Office.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks!

If you're not interested in getting reminders (that's what the daemon is
checking for) you can Turn Off Office Notifications in the Entourage Menu,
and also remove Microsoft Database Daemon from the Startup Items tab in
System Preferences/Accounts (in Jaguar that would be Login Items).
