Database issues - again

The frequency of database problems which advise me to rebuild is
increasing: three times in the last 6 weeks. Could there be an
underlying issue that is not addressed by a rebuild? I'm hooked into
an Exchange server for work and it takes a full day to repopulate all
my email folders.

Many thanks.

7. In that folder, you should see all of the email accounts setup in your
Entourage application. You will want to DELETE ALL of the identities that are
giving you problems. After they have been deleted, make sure that you empty
your trash.

This is not the first time you have recommended doing this. It will delete
all of their mail. Please do not do this again without warning the user of
the consequences.

Thanks (one and all). I think the problem may be in whole or in part
connected to the Exchange server since our IT chap tells me I have
about three times as many emails on the server as I actually have.
Could it be doubling up each time I rebuild?

Thanks

Rather than rebuild a database that only has Exchange, it's best to create a
new Identity and let Entourage sync again with the server.

I don't use Exchange, but can you search for duplicates on the server and
clean them up before syncing again?

It doesn't only have Exchange. I use a local version for storing
emails on my computer after I have deleted them from the server. Will
that make a difference?

Not sure about that. Will have to investigate

Thanks

Rebuilding would help for mail in folders "On My Computer", however, you
might want to try this...

Export as Entourage archive (.rge) all of your mail. Select to delete. Then
you can import it back in your Identity. This is like a rebuild and is a bit
safer. Obviously, you want to make a duplicate first when delete all data.
