Database Utility Saved my Six

I don't know what happened but when I tired to really delete the
messages in the Deleted folder something bad happened and Entourage 2004
version 11.3.6 crashed big time. I finally got to open but it was
obvious something was wrong and had to use the OSX Force Quit to exit.

Based on numerous MVP tips, I restarted with Option key depressed and
did the verify thing. Surprise, surprise it said there was a problem so
I clicked on the Rebuild button.

After what seemed like forever the Database Utility did its thing and
Humpty-Dumpty was back together again.

All is well and I am very thankful for the built-in Database Utility and
the tips from the MVPs.

Now I am not sure what file to delete from my "Office 2004 Identities"
folder?

Should I trash the "Old Database" and then delete the "1" from the "Old
Database 1" file?

BTW, the above listed files are in Folder with my name rather than
"Identity" and I wonder if this can become a problem?

The Old Database folders are abackups ENtourage creates as it attempts
to rebuild the identity. If you're happy with the identity you have, you
can safely trash the old ones (or keep them as a backup).

It looks like you did a rebuild on the 18th also. If you are satisified with
the rebuild, you can delete both of the Old databases.

I'm wondering though why you didn't get them renamed as Backed up 9-26-2007
13.35].

What version of 2004 are you running? Under "About Entourage" it should show
11.3.6.

I still don't know what happened to my Identity?
