Date Field

I copy portions of my plan into an Excel file with Pivot tables set up to aid
me in various reports. I change the date field to reflect a xx/xx/xxxx
format. However, the times are still ghosted in the field - when you click
on a cell, you can see the time in the taskbar. This wreaks havoc with my
pivot tables and are rendering them almost useless. Is there a way in
Project to eliminate using hours or at least have the hour always be a
default?

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello graffer54,

Sorry, Project always calculates information to the minute so although
you may turn off the display of time, the date value including time is
going to be there when you copy/paste to Excel.

I believe a fairly simple formula in excel will do what you need
however. If you have copied information from your project into excel
and the start date and time is in cell D1 try:

=MONTH(D1)&"/"&DAY(D1)& "/"&YEAR(D1)

The formula returns just the date portion of the value in cell D1.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
