Date format wrong - can't change it!

P

Peter Brooks

Entourage doesn't pick up the date format from the OS System Preferences
properly. It also has nowhere, it seems to me, to set the format in its
preferences.

I've set the system to show dd/mm/yyyy - but Entourage only seems able to
show mm/dd/yyyy.

Any suggestions (apart from throwing the product out) as to how to fix this?

What version of the System do you have and where did you try to change
the date format exactly??

In TIger, it could be a bit tedious (but doable).

Additionally: what language/region do you use in the System if you are
in Tiger

It is no problem to set it in Tiger. I have it working with all other
applications (including M$ applications - word etc.). It is just Entourage
that doesn't pick it up properly.

I had a similar issue in the past and I was under the same impression as
well and then I realized that it's not the settings in Date&Time that
matter, it's th one in the International PrefPane. I'm saying it is
difficult because some of the options are not accessible any more since
after Panther. (eg: set the regions as US, but use the date as
dd/mm/yy).

I understand your point, but, no, that isn't the problem. I do use the
International Preferences settings and I am not in the US.

but does your region format match the format you selected?? Did you
check what was displayed in the International prefpane?? I tried to
reproduce your problem on my Mac and failed :-\

You also have to quit and relaunch Entourage after you make the changes in
International prefs.
