What is the difference between date sent and date received in the message
list pane of Inbox? It appears that date received showed the time I
downloaded messages from mail server instead of the time my mail server got
the messages.

I'm using Entourage 2004.

That is correct. There is an AppleScript that will change the Date
Received to the last date in the Received headers, which you can find
at <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg16033.html>.
