Date Values

If I have a value in Cell A1 of 12-Feb-04 and I want to
use this value in another cell i get the value 38029.

I know I can then format the cell as a date and i will get
the value 12-Feb-04 but is there a way of using the value
12-Feb-04 without paste special or formatting the
destination cell.

Like format(a1,dd-mmm-yy)?

Hi Jahson!

You could use:

=TEXT(A1,"dd-mmm-yy")

But this date will then be text.

Alternatively, pre format the cell as a date in your desired format.
