datedif and references

Hello

Could anybody help me with DATEDIF function? I'm trying to use it with
references - for example =DATEDIF(E12,E11,"M"), but it does not work. It
works only if I use strings as arguments
=DATEDIF("01-01-2004","01-02-2004","M"). Is it possible to use this function
with references?

cell references should be no problem. What are the values in your cell
reference. And also what is the error you get

Yes, thank you very much. I have found the mistake myself. I put th
dates in incorrect order because I didn't think it matters.
