Dead Button Question

Newbie Question.

I built a template containing an ActiveX control and a button.
Added code to the On_Click routine to run some ActiveX
functions. Everything works great.

Now, I save the document and reopen it. The button, code,and
ActiveX control is all there but when I click the button,
NOTHING happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Steve,

Have a look at the Tools > Macro > Security dialog. If the security
level is High, Word has disabled your macro and everything associated
with ActiveX.

If you set the security level to Medium, Word will ask you whether to
enable macros (and, without saying so, ActiveX controls).

If you put your template in the User Templates location, then you
should go to the other tab of the Security dialog and tell Word to
trust installed templates and add-ins. Then you can leave the security
level at High. If the template must stay somewhere else, you can sign
it with a certificate.
