default area code

Am new user. Somehow the default area code that pops in when you just type the 7 digit phone number changed and is no longer my local area code. Cannot find anything in menus or help on how to set it. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Look at the default dialing location you set for your operating system
(Usually in Control Panel > Phone and modems..., depending on your operating
system)

That worked - thanks! I am guessing that on a recent trip to Miami, when I dialed in from there it may have changed that setting? I only use dial up when traveling, so it would not have gotten changed back. Will check that after next trip. Meantime, thanks very much!
