Default Font in HTML RECEIVED Mail

This is driving me NUTS!! --- When I receive HTML-coded e-mail in
Outlook 2002, if no font is specified, it is appearing in Times Roman
font. I HATE Times Roman. How can I change this? I already have the
default font for IE (for sites where no font is specified) set to
Arial (which I can live with), so Outlook is NOT pulling the default
font info from IE. Where in the WORLD has Microsoft BURIED this very
small "tweak"???

End-users should NEVER have to go to this much trouble to configure a
program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for any help anyone can offer!!
