Default Setting for Invitations/Responses

Using Entourage 2004 for Mac v. 10.1.0

When I enter a new Event in the Calendar, the default in Options is set to
"Request Responses". I never use the "Invitations" feature, and can find no
way to turn this off.

I am not sure what, if anything, this does because I am not sharing my
calendar with anyone. However, when I change anything about a previous
event. I then get two warnings.

The first warns that I am changing something in the past.
The second warns: "You have made changes to this invitation. If the
organizer sends an updated meeting, your changes will be lost."

Both warnings are annoying and irrelevant and I'd like to turn them off,
because I do frequently change past events in order to add or alter
information -- I use many of them much like a journal.

The only way I have found to avoid the second warning is to uncheck
"Request Responses" in the Options drop down menu for every single Event
-- an extra step I would rather not have to take.

Is there some way to just turn off the entire invitation thing?

By the way, I have NOT checked, "Tenatively add events when invitations are
received."

And: is there a way to set the default to "All-day event"? I have a lot of
events that are one day or "sometime that day".
