defective Powerpoint 2003

I had an extra unopened copy of Powerpoint 2003 laying
around and decided to sell it on ebay. Once the buyer
recieved it, they sent me an email claimint that the CD
was defective and that the package lacked a manual. I was
wondering if anyone could help me out in this situation.
Should the buyer just contact microsoft and return the cd
for a replacement?

Well, PPT 2003 doesn't come with a manual, so you're in the clear there --
unless, of course, you claimed there was one.

Not sure about the defective CD, though. Did they say what the problem with
it is?

Replacement CDs can be purchased from MS via these channels:

Contact Microsoft - Support, Sales, Replacement Media, etc.

If you sent it in shrink wrap, then they should contact Microsoft, in my
opinion. They are the legal owner now and you wouldn't be able to do anything
for them.
