Defn of column headings

K

Kenneth B Winiecki

There are several column headings that I don¹t understand, e.g., Online
Status, Message Status. Where are the definitions of all the column
headings? Help ³Online Status² doesn¹t return anything useful.

Thanks,
Ken

In Entourage you can hover your cursor over a column icon and you'll
receive a tooltip with its name.

In Entourage 2008 hold the Command key while you hover your cursor over
the column icon and you'll also receive an explanation.

Hope this helps!

I think "Online Status" is used to indicate whether the sender of the e-mail
is currently online in Microsoft Messenger. There is an equivalent column in
Apple Mail for tracking online status in iChat.

Unfortunately, Entourage doesn't support any chat clients other than
Microsoft Messenger, so if you don't use that, the "Online Status" column
will always be blank.

Actually, it's referring to the online status of the message itself. If
the message is resident on the server (hasn't been downloaded and
deleted from the server) then it will appear with a green pipe symbol
(network). If the message has been deleted from the server then it
appears without the green pipe symbol.

However, if you're addressing a message to someone in your address book
then the icon of the recipient will appear as a Messenger icon. If
that's blue then the recipient is online.
