Delay for Trash & Junk

Entourage seems to be the only email program that I have ever used where
there is a lag between the time a message is displayed in the preview pane
and when I can delete it or mark it as trash. No matter how I set the "mark
as read" option in Preferences, I have to wait a couple of seconds before
the delete or trash icons are active. If I don't wait, clicking them does
nothing.

With every other program I have used results are instantaneous on similar
buttons. Anyone have a fix?

No fix, I don't have the problem. Nor is it something I have seen reported
before.

Sorry, not much use am I?
