Delete Calendar "On My Computer"

Jerry Roy

I have two calendars associated with my Exchange account, one located on the
server and the other located "On My Computer". How can I delete the local
calendar as it only gets in the way and I don't want or need the confusion
of two calendars?

Well, unfortunately, you simply can't...

In what way is the local calendar "associated with your Exchange account"?
There's no way it should be - it's for personal events which you don't want
to appear on Exchange, should you want to use it.

If you don't, go into the "All Events" calendar view in the left pane in
Calendar area. Wait for the items to collate.

Click on the "Folder" column header at the right, to sort by Folder. Now all
the events in "Calendar [On My Computer]" will appear together, probably at
the top. Hold down the Shift key and select first the top, then the bottom,
of these events, so all the "On my Computer" events are now selected. Press
or click Delete. Now the local calendar will be empty.

There's no reason for you to put any event in the local calendar again if
you don't want to. It's not "associated". If you use Palm synching, make
sure that you have set your Default mail account (in Tools/Accounts/Mail) to
your Exchange account, so it will use the Exchange calendar.

Is there some reason why this won't work for you? As Corentin said, you
can't delete the local calendar. But you don't have to use it if you don't
want to.

Except that categories won't sync to the Exchange folder and every time
you rebuild your database or clear the Exchange cache you lose them :'-(

I chose to keep my calendar local because of that :-\
