Right click the folder | Properties | AutoArchive
You can set custom archive options here. Note, however; AutoArchive uses the
modified date of the item to determine if an item meets the aging criteria
for archiving/deleteion. This means if you've moved, imported, or modified
any of those items after they were originally created in that folder, the
modified date will change and they may not be caught in the age criteria you
specify.

The advantage of which is if you set the auto archive to delete after 1 week
then no message will be deleted if you've looked at in the past week.
