Try as I might, I can't manage my mail. Messages I delete on one
computer come back on another. Inspite of my settings to the contrary.
I use Entourage 2004 (on my Mac in OS10.3.9) for three mail accounts:
.. An Apple .Mac account (POP).
.. Local POP account (my local PSP)
.. An AOL (smtp) account.
I have the accounts set up as follows:
My .Mac account (POP)
Leave a copy of each message on the server.
Delete messages from the server after they are deleted from this
computer.
My local PSP account (POP)
same as above
My AOL (SMTP)
Delete Options
Mark messages as deleted
Purge deleted messages when quitting Entourage
Empty deleted items folder on quit. Delete all.
In spite of these settings, after openint Entourage on my desktop
computer, receiving a message, then deleting it, then quitting - upon
which I get a warning message, "The schedule "empty deleted item
folder" will now delete mail from the folder "deleted items." - it
reappears when I open Entourage on my laptop.
*I also use Apple's Mail client. With that, if I delete a new
message, empty the trash, go back to my Entourage client- it is gone.
That is, it is not received as a new message.
What am I doing wrong in Entourage? Regardless of all the cleaning up I
do on my desktop mail client, I have to do it all over again in my
laptop mail client.
Thanks
