Deleted items - listing order

I'd like for my deleted items to be listed in date order when deleted rather
than the date they were originally received.

You can customize the view and replace the received date field with the
modified date field.

In addition to Diane's reply -

Deleted Items is *not* a good place to store anything you care about. It
should be emptied regularly. Don't treat it as you would a filing folder -
if you want to get stuff out of your inbox, but aren't ready to truly purge
it, create another folder ("Pending Deletion" or something) and move the
items there.
