Deleted messages

I can't find any way to change the length of time that a message is retained
once it is deleted from my inbox and sent into my Deleted Items folder. It
seems to retain them for 1 month only. Can this be changed?

Open Schedules under Tools in the Menu Bar. Select Schedule: Empty Deleted
Items Folder.

The Junk Mail Folder has it's setting in Tools --> Junk E-Mail Protection
window.
