Deleted POP messages are disappearing without going to DeletedItems folder

When I delete a message from my Inbox (either via the keyboard or the
toolbar Delete button), it disappears, but does not go to the Deleted Items
folder.

This is a new problem; it occurred after running the Office 10.1.5 updater
(which does not appear to affect Entourage, which is still at 10.1.4) and
rebuilding my message database.

Strangely, this problem only occurs with messages marked as ³Read². If I
select a block of messages, the first message I choose is marked as ³read²
in the process of selecting. When I delete, the UNREAD messages go to
Deleted Items, but the first message vanishes without a trace.

Any suggestions?

Have you made any rules lately? I would check your Rules to see if you have
inadvertently set up some type of rule that is deleting read messages or
something like that. Also, Schedules could do something like that with
proper conditions.

It sounds like you might have the "Unread Only" option enabled. Open the
Deleted Items folder, and click the View menu. Make sure the "Unread Only"
option is unchecked (if it is checked, click it to turn it off).
