Deleted ".pst" file

When opening Outlook 2000 this morning, I received the
message that Outlook could not find the "outlook.pst"
file? I have searched for it and cannot find it anywhere
on my PC! This file contains a large amount of
irreplaceable data that I need to locate. No one has been
operating my machine and I feel like the file is still on
the hard drive. I would really appreciate any advice on
this issue.

As the data is 'irreplaceable' surely you have a backup?
The file may be a hidden file, search for *.pst

Have you enabled Hidden and System Files in your search? (Advanced
Search Options)
