Deleted Rules still running! Sent email no longer kept.

Two griefs for Entourage - I inadvertently deleted a mailbox that I sent
certain mails to after sending. I re-created the box and the rule still ran
but sent the mails into somewhere I can not find. So I gave up and deleted
the rule, it still ran, so in desperation I deleted all my user created rules
and it STILL runs!

Now Entourage as stopped keeping sent mail in my mailbox! I dragged the
sent box onto the desk top and back and a pile showed up that had
'disappeared' but the last three days of sent mail are still not there. I
tried a re-build - same story! This problem is persistent with all of my
acounts!

Time to give up on Entourage?

Just an update - so a second rebuild seems to have changed the issue but not
solved it. Now sent emails are being kept, somehow somewhere - that is to
say if I sort the sent box view by Received, newest on top, with or without
groups, the newest does not appear. (Again, there are no restrictions
checked under 'View') A careful look manually through the entire box in that
box ordered 'Recieved' view, the recent sent mail is still not there. IF I
change the sort to Subject, voila, there it is!

So this seems to be a 'View' issue?

Any thought on how to get it to show any and all sent email in order of
'Received?' (which is itself is a misnomer in as it is really order of
'Sent' - but that rant is for another day!)

more likely time to do a rebuild. The fact that they re-appeared when
cycling the sent mail folder through an MBOX file indicates they _were_
in that folder, just the the mail browser couldn't display them for some
reason. this could indicate database corruption.

To rebuild the database, start up Entourage while keeping the Option key
pressed - keep it pressed until you see the rebuild screen, then follow
the instructions.

narrowed down to something in the view function - as for the rules running
that have been deleted I have yet to check that little piece of Entourage

Have you checked to make sure that you don't have Mailing List Manager (MLM)
rules running? Check under Tools -> Mailing List Manager.

As I said in my first post I have deleted ALL of my rules, and I know of one
rule that is deleted that STILL runs - I have no idea why. That was the
start of Entourage going snaky after only about 3 months use.

Many people who THINK they have deleted all their rules have not looked at
the MLM rules, which are NOT found under the Rules command on the Tools menu
but under the Mailing List Manager command. Since you didn't explicitly
mention MLM, I thought it a reasonable suggestion to make.

Yes good point but not the case. It now seems to be an issue of the 'Views'
as the emails in the sent box don't show under certain views, but do in
others i.e. if ordered by 'Recieve' the email is not there, if ordered by
"Subject' it is.
