Deleting 20,000 message?

I just changed my e mail address for my newsgroups, and when I went into
Entourage to delete one of my old newsgroup accounts it said, "deleting
19,890 messages"

What are these 20,000 messages, and were they on my hardrive????

If you deleted the newsgroup account, it would clear the message cache for
all subscribed newsgroups in that account, and that could easily run into
thousands of messages.

However, if you just changed email address there should eb no need to delete
the entire News account, you can just create a new mail account, and select
that as the account to use in the pop-up menu in the News account settings
dialog.
