Deleting email addresses

Sometimes a contact who I frequently email at work has sent me an email from a different email address (i.e. personal vs. work) and now every time I try and send a new email and start typing the contact's name, the "wrong" email address defaults (i.e. the personal address)

This is incredibly annoying as the contact doesn't check that account as frequently, and when I check the address book it only shows the work email address.

Is there any way to delete this other email address so that it doesn't keep on popping up every time I try and send a message to them?

I believe, however, that the easy way to solve your problem is to add the
second address to your correspondent's address book entry and then mark the
preferred address as the default.

I knew it had to be something easy like that! Thanks so much.
