Deleting from folders

A query for the experts. If I delete mail from entourage folders, they do not appear in the Deleted Items folder. So can they be retrieved? When i deleted an item, I could not 'Undo Move' so is it lost forever ?? Is this a Preferences issue?

Are these messages in local "On My Computer" folders, IMAP folders, or
Exchange folders?
