I would like to delete junk mail frequently but always keep about a
month's worth of non-junk deletions in my deleted folder. Can I bypass
the deleted folder (so as not to clutter it up with junk) and just
permanently delete junk? Thanks!
By Default your junk mail should be going to the Junk Mail Folder. In the
Junk Mail Filter you can set to delete after XX days. Tools --> Junk Mail
Filter. I use a Nuke AppleScript to permanently delete junk bypassing the
Deleted Items folder. I usually get several good messages a day that ends up
in junk because I do support and get mail from people that aren't in my
Address Book so I check the junk folder frequently. I want the junk gone and
deleted from my server. I have in Accounts Options "Delete mail from server
after it is deleted from this computer"
Nuke Messages:

Mail that is in Deleted Items can be set to delete with a Schedule. Check
the Empty Deleted Items Folder schedule. Tools --> Schedules. Set when you
want these deleted.
