deleting mail from server

Email Client: pop

I'm a new user. Former email client allowed me to delete mail form the host server when it was downloaded to the email program. Does Entourage allow this. I'm getting quite a backlog of messages being stored on my server and bogging down things. Can't find out how/where to do it using this program.
