deleting multiple e-mails

OK, I'm sure this is something very simple but I can't
figure out how to delete multiple e-mail messages in
Outlook Express! I assumed I could flag or check them and
then there would be an option to 'delete flagged'
or 'delete checked' messages but that's not the case. I
looked in all the pull-down options then in the 'help'
search but nothing....only how to delete individual
messages.

Any help would be much appreciated knowing I must be
missing very basic!

Select first message. Hold down shift key; select last message. Press del
key. To select multiple messages which are not contiguous, use Ctrl key
instead.
