deleting pages in publisher 2002

When deleting p.5 (or any page) of my 19 page document, last page deletes
instead! What's happening here? How can I delete my page? I'm using "edit"
delete page. Also, I am not in Master Page mode.

This is a booklet of sorts... I have 19 separate pages. I've tried adding
pages as you suggested. I can delete those ones but not the old pages.

Not sure how to explain as I'm not very experienced in Publisher other than
to make this "brochure".

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

If you delete page 5 of a booklet, page 6 will become page 5, and all the
numbers will shift up. Page 19 will appear to disappear from the page
navigation bar, when in fact, it's just that page 5 has gone, so all the
other numbers have shuffled up to accommodate. Publisher would be less
useful if all the page numbers were static.
