Deleting Sceduled Appointments that have no Owner

I

Ian Livesey

Using Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2002 - 120 user system.

If someone creates and appointment for 10 people say, but do not
themselves want the appointment in there own diary as they are booking
the meeting for someone else, they have been deleting themselves from
the attendees list. This is okay as they get the email
accept/declines as normal.

However, if that meeting is subsequently cancelled as no one owns the
meeting - is is not possible to cancell all the meetings in one go.

What are we doing wrong / missing.

Info appreciated.

The thing you are doing wrong lies in "creates for someone else". If this is
the case it's better that this "someone" set permissions for that other
person to send "on behalf of". Then the person who creates the appointment
can set the name for who it's creating for in the From field. This way it
won't show up in his/her agenda either.

Hope this helps!
