Deploying patches via GPO

I have begun deploying Office 2k and its patches via AD GPO. The way I am
currently delivering the patches is to patch the administrative share point,
then redeploy the package. I was just wondering if this is the proper
procedure or is there a better way to deploy these patches.
Also, when delivering the patches in this method, does Office get completely
reinstalled or does it just do an incremental install of the patches?
