Different address books

I need to set up seperate address books. I am having diffiiculties doing this. I was a previous pc user and microsoft outlook allowed me to make different address books. I do not want to confuse my contacts but it only recognizes them in the original address book. I must say..Ilove the MAC but i am very disappointed with the lack of information I recieved with the software.

Sorry, Entourage does not support multiple address books, unless you happen
to be connected to an Exchange server. As a workaround, you may find that
categories allow you to subdivide your address book. It is not the same
thing as an entirely different address book, but it's as close as it gets in
the current versions of Entourage.

There are a number of options, including categories and identities. Can you
be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish/prevent and why?

TY for the information. What I am trying to accomplish, is keeping each of the addresses seperately. I have categorized each of the contacts, plus made a seperate address view but I noticed that when I tried to pull up some of the names from a category, it was not in the address book. Very confusing. Also would you be able to tell me how to add that I want to reply from the sender? Again sorry for my ignorance, but PC didn't make it this difficult.

I am trying to do the same thing as well. I have a set of contacts for Work and another for Personal, plus various others. As far as I can tell, Entourage can only do this if connected to an Exchange Server, unlike Outlook.

This is a big drawback for me as I sync my mobile phones with the appropriate Contact list. I don't seem to be able do this with my new iMac and Entourage! Is there a solution, even if it is a work around? I am trying to avoid using Bootcamp and Outlook.

Thanks.

I have made different categories instead which helps for mail merging. It is not as nice a having seperate address books but it gets the job done! I also recommend having different groups. It takes a while to get used to but once you get it, it gets so much easier!
Good luck!
