different outgoing/incoming mail servers

I work from home and have been using entourage to also check my work email
off of a different email server but now i can't send email, only receive.

to further explain:
incoming mail: pop.WORK.com
outgoing mail: smtp.HOME.com
authentication: HOME username, HOME password (since I'm using my home email
server)

used to work now doesn't, i know that it's an entourage problem because:
when i switch to outlook express i don't have this problem.

Entourage 2001
Mac OS 9.2.2

What happens when you try? Do you get an error? What does it say?

Actually, I think I might know what your problem is. I had the same problem
with the e-mail account provided by my university. It would work when I was
using my computer on campus, but as soon as I tried to send e-mails back
home, I got an error message, and the e-mails remained in the outbox. I
contacted the IT department and they told me that the server settings for my
account are only correct if I access it from within the university network.
Outside of that, I'd have to use my service provider's SMTP settings. So I
changed the SMTP server (that's the server for outgoing mail), and now, it's
working.
