Difficulties in resizing and moving objects or text boxes

Recently began to notice difficulties in resizing and moving either Word Art
text boxes or pictures while working in Publisher. It appears to be very
sensitive, not allowing for much movement. For instance, in attempting to
resize an object by dragging a corner, the text or graphic box immediately
pops up as if I am editing the object. Also, when highlighting, whether in
Publisher or on a web page, I have to attempt several tries before it finally
"takes". Again, appears to be very sensitive. Drives me crazy. What's the
deal? I'm using Office 2003 version. I've tried defragging & cleaning up
temp files and cookies, with no change.

Sounds like you have a malfunctioning mouse - registering click+drags as
multiple clicks. Mine do that occasionally.
