Directory Service

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

Every now and then when Entourage is open, it will suddenly search for email from an account which is not mine. I've found it in Tools>Accounts>Directory Service, the fourth one down, the only one of 6 that is highlighted, called Four11 1.

Does anyone know what this is or why it would search for email from this account? Or better, how do I prevent it from doing so?

Thanks again in advance

I'm going to guess you've been using Entourage for quite a while. ;-)

This is a leftover from an earlier version of Entourage that included
the Four11 and Bigfoot directory services. These were Internet services
where folks could add their names, E-mail and contact information in an
effort to start a sort of Internet "phone book".

These services didn't catch on mainly because they were also available
to spammers.

You can safely delete both of these directory services. They don't exist
anymore.

Hope this helps!
