Disable Sent Items?

I have disabled, turned off, unchecked, etc. the "Save Sent Items" item in
Preferences. However, the sent items continue to be saved. I have booted,
rebooted, restarted, etc. without any luck.

I still have Outlook on my machine and I checked the Properties there to
insure the Save Sent Items was not selected... Just in case!

Any suggestions? I really hate automatically saving items I have sent!

Are you using a POP account or an IMAP account?
