Disabling Auto Correction

Is there a way to disable the auto correction as-you-type feature? I
find it quite annoying when I always have to go back to force a certain
way of spelling (e.g. if I type in "p.s." it will automatically correct it to
say "P.s.").

Tools-Autocorrect-uncheck Capitalize first letters of sentences
