Disappearing folder

Well, this is pretty ugly. A folder simply disappeared from Entourage X
10.1.6. As best as I can tell, I did not accidentally move it into
another folder, and I certainly don't think I mistakenly erased the
entire folder. It's got mail in it going back a year or two. My backup
is several months out of date (stupid me, obviously). Do Entourage
folders just disappear? Can they be made to reappear? Thanks.

If you did accidentally "delete" it, it would become a subfolder of the
Deleted Items folder. See if there's an arrow there.

It's very easy to accidentally move a folder into another folder, I do this
all the time. Your best bet to find it is to do a search for one of the
messages inside. Edit > Advanced Find.

No, it's not talked inside another folder. This is just bizarre. I
guess I must have accidentally deleted the entire folder, but I would
have thought there would be a warning before I took the final step.

As I said, you cannot simply Delete an entire folder. It will become a
subfolder of your Deleted Items folder where it will stay unless deleted
*again* (prompting an Are You Sure) error.

Did you try searching for a message inside that folder?

Yes to both -- I'ved looked inside every folder that seems to have a
subfolder. I've looked through the Deleted folder even though there
*are* no subfolders. And I've searched for messages in the folder. As
far as I can tell, the folder that disappeared has moved into another
plane of existence, to be visible only after I die. DK
