disappearing messages from .pst

I have a user whose using Outlook 2000. She has a
personal folder setup. Today, all of her messages from a
certain date and older have disappeared from her deleted
items folder. None of the other subfolders in her
personal folder were affected. This has actually happened
to other people before. Auto-archiving is not turned on.
I ran scanpst.exe and it made minor repairs, but it did
not retrieve any missing messages. Anybody have any
suggestions on how to get the messages back?

Hello,

Does the AutoArchive disable from the Deleted Items folder? You can check
the individual folder Archive setting by going to the properties of such
folder. Have you tried to search the hard drive with hidden files and
folders uncheck to see if there is any archive.pst from the hard drive?
